Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Financial Aid for the Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA). This position provides support and services for the processing of financial aid and counseling of all students at RBHS.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Counsels, packages and awards students regarding regulations, procedures, programs and eligibility for all financial aid programs.
  • Presents at Financial Aid workshops, orientations, literacy programs and other venues as needed.
  • Provides administrative computer services for all Federal Pell related functions with the assistance of SISS, Grants and Department of Education.
  • Provides administrative computer services for all TAG and EOF related functions in conjunction with the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority.
  • Follows up with external agencies and organization in order to troubleshoot student online processing.
  • Maintains and supports all Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) online processing for TAG.
  • Assists Associate Campus Director and the Associate University Director of Student Financial Aid/Technical Support in BANNER testing and federal and state grant processes.
  • Coordinates Entrance and Exit-on line counseling process, keeping in line with all regulatory changes and supporting links.
  • Assists students with the completion of electronic federal and student aid applications using web-based methodology.
  • Updates on-line all FAFSA needs analysis adjustments directly with the Federal designated central processor.
  • Coordinates all financial aid related consumer information disseminated both internally and externally.
  • Provides technical initiative while preparing and planning for future University system development
  • Recommends policy and procedures to both the Associate University Director and the Associate Campus Director of Student Financial Aid.
  • Assists/writes ad-hoc reports to use for day to day operations of the office.
  • Acts as the liaison with multiple RBHS departments such as the Business Office, Cashiers, Student Affairs and Registrar’s Offices.
  • Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
  • Represents RBHS at professional meetings, seminars and/or conferences as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of financial aid experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Department of Ed Software products, COD, NSLDS, SAIG and BANNER.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
