Job Summary
Central State University seeks a skilled and visionary Assistant Director of Research and Demonstration Complex (ADRDC) to lead and oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and stakeholder engagement of our state-of-the-art research and demonstration complex. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in research and research facilities management, knowledge of Extension and outreach programs, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to drive innovation through the effective utilization of resources. The Assistant Director of Research and Demonstration Complex will work with the Associate Research Director and Associate Extension Administrator of Land Grant Programs, faculty, and staff to develop and operationalize the appropriate and necessary research and demonstration infrastructure to advance CSU’s Research and Extension mission.
Roles and Responsibilities

-  Assist in the development and implementation of the strategic vision for the research and demonstration complex in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
-  Identify innovation, expansion, and collaboration opportunities to enhance the complex’s impact.
-  Provide centralized support including instruments, labs, and expertise to support research and education.
-  Coordinate with Facilities and Capital Assets Manager to optimize the utilization of facilities, equipment, and resources.
-  Identify funding opportunities and pursue grants or partnerships to support ongoing and future initiatives and to maintain the functionality of the research and extension facilities.
-  Coordinate with Extension personnel to plan and develop public demonstrations of research outcomes and technologies developed within the complex.
-   Engage with stakeholders, including industry partners and government agencies, to showcase the impact and potential applications of the research.
-   Represents RED/1890 to various local, state, regional, and/or national agencies, organizations, and other constituent bodies, as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
-          An MS or equivalent experience in science, technology, or engineering with an agricultural focus from an accredited institution.
-          Proven experience in managing research projects and facilities. 
-          Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
-          Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
-          Knowledge of funding mechanisms and grant writing experience.
-          Ability to navigate and adapt to a dynamic research environment.
-          Experience demonstrating research results.
-          Familiarity with the latest developments in research and technology related to Agriculture.
-          A valid driver’s license for travel is needed.
Preferred Qualifications
-          A Ph.D. or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific or engineering field
-          Knowledge of operation and maintenance of analytical techniques
-          Familiarity with land grant institutions and their research programs is a plus.
