Position Purpose
Coordinate the experiential learning programs for UCM campus through the office of Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
Provide training and technical assistance to facilitators responsible for daily operation of the experiential learning programs; outdoor leadership development for outreach programs conducted with local public schools, businesses, and other outside groups seeking team building experiences.
Managing the indoor rock wall within the Student Recreation & Wellness Center including hiring and scheduling student worker staff, scheduling outside group usage such as birthday parties when the rock wall is requested, and maintaining care and certification of equipment for the rock wall.
Help with the coordination of Pertle Springs Outdoor development of trails and recreational areas including the low ropes course and managed deer hunt.
Coordinates Earth Week programs and other sustainability programs to encourage a culture of sustainability.
Responsible for staff trainings and certification logs for those working both the rock wall program along with the archery and other areas where specific training is needed for outdoor education program development.
Develop and maintain compliance of operational policy and procedures of the outdoor education programs to include, but not limited to, program operation records, maintenance records, usage reports, staff training, and safety compliance records. Maintain budget and revenue records for the experiential leadership programs.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Recreation, Outdoor Education or related field required.
Master’s degree in Business, Recreation, Outdoor Education or related field preferred.

Experience
Experience leading groups on outdoor education, climbing trips, and basic camping required.

Climbing Wall Instructor certification within 6 months of hire.
