Job Summary | The Assistant Director of Museum Communications works cooperatively with Museum staff to design exhibition materials and publications. This position also helps develop, implement, and manage a dynamic communications and public relations program that elevates the profile of the BCMA’s programs, exhibitions, and collections, as well as its role in supporting Bowdoin’s mission, locally, nationally, and internationally. |
Education/Skills Requirements | Required: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in communications, art history or studio art), Master’s degree preferred. Also required: Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite; familiarity and experience with website editing and social media platforms; willingness and ability to learn new software applications as needed; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and superior organizational skills. An understanding of Museum operations is highly desirable. |
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents | Minimum of 3 years’ broad administrative experience in the non-profit field (museum experience preferred); and demonstrated knowledge of publication production. |
Standard Work Days and Hours | Generally Mon – Friday; 8:30 – 5:00 pm. Some weekend work may be required. This is an in-office position. Benefits and Pay:
