Work Schedule | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required in conjunction with athletic events. |
Primary Purpose of Position | Responsible for a strategic communications plan to promote and publicize assigned sports with emphasis on social media and visual storytelling. Responsible for building relationships with head coaches, student-athletes and staff; serving as adviser regarding communications strategy and content creation. Coordinate media opportunities, press conferences and interviews and actively promote content through internal outlets. Design, write and produce record books, press releases, game programs and other publications. Act as liaison with affiliated conference and NCAA offices. Maintain website content and engage social media platforms. Nominate student-athletes for national, regional and conference athletic and academic honors. Acts in compliance with institutional, conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations and reports known NCAA violations. |
Minimum Education/Experience | Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. University Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. |
