Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director of FAU CARD - Boca Raton, FL.

FAU CARD (Center for Autism & Related Disabilities) provides expert consulting, training and support, at no charge, for all people with autism and related disabilities, their families, employers, the professionals and community and governmental agencies serving them. We help bridge needs with resources and services for individuals with ASD.

The Assistant Director of FAU Card reports to the Director and Executive Director of FAU CARD.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Manage organizational operations.

  • Directly supervise a team of clinical specialists and support staff that provide services and programming to individuals of all ages with autism and related disabilities.

  • Oversee daily activities and productivity of the organization.

  • Review data and develop reports for the Florida Department of Education.

  • Create strategy and vision for the team for immediate and long-term planning.

  • Write grants and applications for funding.

  • Oversee program development.

  • Coordinate professional development opportunities for staff.

  • Manages Human Resource concerns and conducts hiring.

  • Coordinates the delivery of clinical support services and assistance to families, teachers, and other professionals working with individuals with autism and related disabilities.

  • Manages service provision to persons with autism across the FAU CARD region.

  • Attends the statewide CARD Conference annually and participates in conference development.

  • Works on fundraising initiatives and coordinates underwriting opportunities with the FAU Foundation.

  • Implements DOE, FAU, and state policies.

  • Facilitates the FAU CARD parent advocacy board.

  • Facilitates internal committees and work groups.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Special Education or related field and 5 years of experience with autism.

Salary:

$75,000 - $80,000 per year.
Exempt Administrative, Managerial, Professional (AMP)
