Assistant Director of Experiential Learning
Primary Purpose:
Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean for Innovation and Professional Development, this position assists in the development and coordination of the School of Engineering and Computer Science Corporate Affiliate Program. This includes support of the various experiential learning programs, development of collaborative internal and external relationships, database management, and generating marketing and promotional materials.
Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with CAP team to serve SOECS students
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor programming related to sponsored research program, clinic program and global program.
  • Work with faculty and student ambassadors to promote new opportunities.
  • Support faculty in evaluating job opportunities for suitability as an academic learning experience.
  • In collaboration with department staff, hires and trains student staff.
  • Manage sponsored research and experiential learning content of a database for sponsored research project, faculty research interests, equipment/software
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within timeline.
  • Acts as a 'super user' for Handshake and the Career Services Management and maintains the system. Provides support to employers who have questions or need assistance navigating Handshake and Career Services Management.
  • Engages employers in diverse fields (engineering and computer science) with the goal of developing quality experiences for Pacific students and alumni.
  • Send monthly emails to update faculty and other campus partners about experiential learning resources/events.
  • Create, track and maintain comprehensive project documentation and progress.
  • Create content for social media/website.
  • Promotes and participates in CO-OP and other events and services as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Three (3) years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Effective written and communication skills.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with experience managing multiple and complex projects and schedules to successful completion.
  • Knowledge and expertise with issues facing career services professionals relative to quality service delivery.
  • Demonstrated evidence of implementing persistence programs for underrepresented students.
  • Demonstrated excellent written/oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in general computer skills, including Microsoft Office products with emphasis in Excel, SharePoint, and other LMS/CMS platforms.
  • Commitment to quality of work, initiative and responsibility, and driving projects to completion.
  • Strong ability to quickly establish a viable professional relationship with employers, students, and members within the academic community.
  • Strong ability to effectively collect, analyze, interpret, and present data.
  • Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to experiential learning.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with the use of a computer, phone and other office equipment.
Extended periods of sitting. Occasional standing and walking. Infrequent climbing of stairs. May require lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work performed during standard business hours. May require evening or weekend hours as business demands. Requires travel between campuses and to off campus locations.
Valid drivers license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the Universitys fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance
Hiring Range: $66,560 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
