Assistant Director of Creative Services - Design

Job Summary

 

Work with the Director of Creative Services – Graphic Design in idea development, creation, and production of graphics and affiliated materials for sports programs. Responsible for developing, producing, and executing graphic content to represent and grow the Purdue Athletics brand.  Areas of concentration will include (but are not limited to): creating content for recruiting materials, social media, in-game content, and on-campus visits. This position will be filled at the Assistant Director level or Associate Director level based on qualifications and experience

 

P2 Requirements: (assistant level)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Interface Graphics, Web Design or related field of study
  • Two years’ experience in graphic design or related field

 

P3 requirements: (associate level)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Multimedia or related field of study 
  • Five years design and advertising experience within the sports, entertainment, or advertising industry.  

 

Additional requirements:

  • Excellent graphics design/software skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) in an Apple environment; Knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and AfterEffects a plus.  
  • Photography experience is a plus, recruiting experience a huge plus.  
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage several projects at one time.  
  • Experience in fast-paced environment is essential. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of print production.  
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, and have the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.  
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.  
  • Ability to work independently and self-manage project flow.  
  • Team player with the ability to work well in a team setting and across diverse groups, organizations and departments.  Proactive, energetic, curious, creative thinker, trouble shooter and problem solver.  
  • Willing to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays and game nights if required.  
  • Must be able to provide a portfolio which highlights a variety of projects including identity design, advertising and/or page layout.


 

Preferred: 

  • A strong understanding of sports
