Job Description:

Boston Conservatory at Berklee is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Admissions. The primary responsibility of this position is to represent Boston Conservatory at Berklee to prospective students, parents, and counselors with an emphasis on students interested in the Dance and Voice programs. They are also responsible for coordinating on campus auditions, online auditions, and national audition tours, planning major events, execution of recruitment, and prospect and application management both of a given travel territory and the Dance and Voice program areas of the Conservatory. The position reports to the Associate Dean of Admissions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the major point of contact for all applicants to Voice and Dance programs through campus visits, recruitment trips, application processing, and audition assistance.

  • Design and assemble the regional audition tours for Dance and Voice programs when applicable by identifying, scheduling and booking audition venues around the country in concert with faculty requests and availability, request payment and issue certificates of insurance for each venue.

  • Responsible for planning and implementing recruitment activities within their designated region. Travel independently in support of high school, college, and education fair visits.

  • Engage in annual recruitment and travel in a region of the country for 6-8 weeks in the fall. Plan said travel through analysis of past travel productivity as well as application and enrollment data review.

  • Oversees the functionality and maintenance of recruitment documents for the office as well as register faculty and admissions staff for college fairs and conferences.

  • Assist with the design and scheduling of Boston auditions, including booking rooms, scheduling faculty, arranging facilities requests, room set-ups, and food catering.

  • Assist with planning and execution of additional on-campus events including Open House and accepted student yield events. Assistance with registration and scheduling of auditions, communicating with faculty and applicants, and helping with room set-ups and food catering when needed.

  • Guide applicants through the admissions process from point of inquiry through matriculation, including assistance with registration and scheduling of auditions.

  • Facilitate the completion of applications including the data entry of supporting documents (transcripts, recommendation letters) and adjudication sheets.

  • Field inquiries from prospects, faculty and staff via phone and email in a timely manner.

  • Generate regular reports from online application system (Acceptd, TargetX, Salesforce) to distribute with appropriate faculty.

  • Available for seasonal work, including travel and events on weekends and evenings.

  • Serve as Website Content Manager for Admission pages.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Specialized skills and experience in broad and Boston Conservatory-specific student experiences, Conservatory programs and related career options, and all relevant trends and public policies affecting the student population at Boston Conservatory.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Strong public speaking skills and experience necessary.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong familiarity with current technologies such as Google Suite, Salesforce, TargetX, Acceptd, and social networking platforms.

  • Detail-oriented, be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently, and be able to meet deadlines.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a major or minor in dance, music, or theater.

  • Personal experience and/or education in the arts (Dance or voice preferred).

  • Two to three years’ work experience in a fast-paced office environment required, preferably in college admissions.

  • Extensive experience with large-scale event-planning.

  • Driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel via car, train and plane.

  • This position may provide an opportunity for limited remote work.
