General Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in Student Services, Higher Education, Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Six years of full-time experience in web design or development, graphic design, communications, or a related field. Experience with a residence life program desirable.

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:


Develops marketing strategies, implements marketing tools, and promotes Residence Life activities and programs.

Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):


Organizes, develops, and manages the Marketing and Guest Services areas within the Department of Residence Life. Creates visual designs and graphics utilizing Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Develops production-ready assets, including use of department logos, icons, and graphics. Management of day-to-day internal account operations and brand integrity across various pertinent social media platforms. Creates interactive content for social media including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Identifies marketing equipment needs, as well as strategic promotional items to support department goals. Monitors the design and maintenance of Residence Life related websites, ensuring compliance with SHSU design standards. Formulates and recommends policies and procedures for guest services to include conferences and summer camps. Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, supervises and evaluates student staff and training and development programs for guest services. Works directly with students, parents, student groups, organizations, departments, alumni, vendors, and others as necessary. Prepares reports, analyses, evaluations, and proposals as required. Serves on committees as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
