Job Summary
Responsible for developing and managing overall employee engagement goals and strategies which include employee recognition platforms, employee events and activities to build an employee-centric workplace culture within the division, while working closely with the Senior HR Business Partner. The Assistant Director is responsible for the development, delivery, and communication of programs and initiatives including day-to-day support for employee resource groups and facilitating employee engagement activities. The Assistant Director exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for improving workplace culture and will develop all initiatives and programming to support multiple work modalities. This position will also serve on various university, division, and departmental committees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the division’s engagement program strategy. 
  • Analyzes organizational structures, responsibilities, reporting relationships, and work processes to determine programs and training initiatives that need to be reimagined or implemented to increase organizational effectiveness.
  • Gather and analyze complex data to prepare standard staffing reports, scorecards/dashboards, executive presentations, and key personnel metrics utilizing data from both PeopleAdmin and PeopleSoft. 
  • Review turnover metrics to identify areas of concerns and trends for recommendations and solutions to senior leadership.
  • Manage the employee life cycle of the department’s staff members. 
  • Assess and document the division’s on-boarding and off-boarding programs for staff.
  • Identify required certifications and skills for each individual and develop strategies to focus on employee success and individual career path. 
  • Ensure managers are setting obtainable and stretch goals during their one-on-one conversation with each of their team members.
  • Monitor vacant positions within the department and work with managers to remove roadblocks and ensure positions are filled in a timely manager. 
  • Develop recruitment strategies in conjunction with Senior HR Business Partner. 
  • Serve as the point of contact on annual performance review submissions, remote work agreements, and job description audit and repository.
  • Serves as a resource for employee engagement and culture within the division to foster working relationships and better communication and understanding.
  • Develop opportunities to celebrate success and progress with the division.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, psychology, or related field and/or a minimum of three (3) years professional experience in leadership development, organizational development, talent management or related experience.
  • One (1) year of experience with People Soft/People Admin.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in organizational development, psychology, or related field and/or a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in leadership development, organizational development, talent management, or related experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience with People Soft/People Admin.
