Legal Affairs is seeking (1) Assistant Director, Contracts to join the already awesome team taking the department to the next level of excellence!

The Office of Legal Affairs provides professional quality legal services to the University on all matters having legal significance to the management and operation of the institution. While providing counsel toward sound decision-making in all areas of instruction, research and service, we strive to minimize legal risks and costs, reduce litigation, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws, as well as University policies and procedures. HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts, agreements and other legally binding documents under the supervision of counsel.
  • Ensures compliance with State and Federal laws and University policies governing contracts, grants and other documents.
  • Assists counsel in developing and updating standard contracts, contract templates, addendums and other forms for use by the campus community.
  • Manages process and procedures for the Office of Legal Affairs contract drafting and review.
  • Intake and review of commercial and academic requests to film on campus; work with appropriate campus partners to Identify potentially
    suitable campus filming locations and facilitate scouting/photography requests; obtain departmental approval and logistic coordination per
    project scope/impact assessment.
  • For approved filming requests, contract drafting/negotiation, assessment and collection of fees, and assessment of Insurance
    compliance per state requirements; ensure timely restoration of facilities upon completion and coordination of release documents.

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and five years or supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications: 

Previous Legal Assistant experience with a college/university.
