Job Summary

The Assistant Director/Area Coordinator (ADAC), along with other Assistant Directors, Associate Directors and the Director of Residence Education, will lead a dynamic team of professionals and student leaders to develop and deliver a range of programs and services designed to enhance the multicultural, educational, and social experiences of our residence hall and apartment community members. The successful candidate will provide evidence of training and experience in managing projects and initiatives, supervising and developing full-time professionals, responding to diversity related issues, mental health emergencies, crisis management, and student safety.

Supervision is received from an Associate Director of Residence Education.


Additional Information

Financial/Budgetary Responsibility

  • The ADAC is Responsible for the area's Programming & Training and Community Center operational budgets averaging $32,000 and various committee budgets ranging between $500 - $10,000.  

Working conditions

  • This position requires on-site work.
  • Some evenings and weekends are required.

Physical requirements

  • May need to move packages of up to fifty pounds to and from various areas in the community, including shelving units, package storage locations, and mailrooms. The incumbent is required to frequently travel around campus to engage with direct reports, campus partners and students.

Direct reports

  • The ADAC directly supervises up to 6 full-time Hall Directors.  

Selected candidates whose start date is after 4/1/2024 or before 8/31/2024 will not be eligible for the university FY 24-25 salary/merit plan unless otherwise notified.

This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.

Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
