Position Summary:

The Division of Academic Affairs is implementing strategies to position FAU as a globalized, forward-thinking institution that caters to high ability students. The division is working to foster an organizational culture of achievement—through timely academic progression and distinction through discovery that will thrust FAU towards national recognition.

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director, Academic Affairs - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Provide a broad range of administrative support that includes but is not limited to scheduling meetings and managing project schedules for various initiatives for the Assistant/ Associate/ Vice/ Provost. Work with academic leadership, external constituents, and staff of the SUS Board of Governors to ensure university objectives are met. Coordinate travel accommodations and provide briefings for future schedules.

  • Assume responsibility for governance, content management, execution, and coordination of a student success communication flow for support and college advising offices. Provide oversight of multiple channels including MyFAU, text messaging, EAB Navigate (Student Success Network), Salesforce, and email and coordinate campus-wide messaging to students. Review all current campus communications to students and work to consolidate and clarify messages. Work to reduce the number of messages overall and augment/ implement an official communications calendar for all student communications.

  • Coordinate progress to implement the Florida Atlantic Success Network (EAB Navigate360). Oversee student app adoption rates and implement annual plan to ensure student adoption and use of the app. Review software features and implement annual plan to leverage software features to increase retention and graduation outcomes. Conduct intervention effectiveness assessments and make recommendations to increase student success outcomes.

  • Operationalize review of course scheduling model. Review course enrollment and classroom utilization trends. Make official recommendations to improve efficiencies in course scheduling and classroom utilization.

  • Oversee student registration hold trends and implement strategies to decrease registration holds each term. Compile registration hold trends and create/ implement strategies to reduce the amount of registration holds each term.

  • Oversee academic assessment report submissions to the Office of the Provost

  • Serve as the primary contact/ administrator/ technical support for Weave Assessment Reporting

  • Assist academic departments with academic program assessment related initiatives associated with program/ institutional accreditation efforts.

  • Assist/ contribute to accreditation-related reports on assessment of student learning outcomes. 

  • Support accreditation and licensure processes for professionally accredited programs and certificates.

  • Support academic personnel processes as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience required.

Salary:

$70,000 - $85,000 per year.
