Responsibilities:

Admissions (10% Effort)

Direct and manage admissions operations of the College of Nursing Office of Student Affairs, including supervision of staff involved in these functions. More specifically, develop processes in conjunction with University Student Affairs/Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, and College of Nursing Academic Affairs to provide efficient and effective application processes; update admissions and application information on the Website; manage the electronic application database; counsel prospective applicants; analyze applications to determine competitiveness; oversee applicant data preparation for faculty review and scheduling of interviews; facilitate Admissions Committee; and communicate admissions decisions to applicants.

Recruitment (10% Effort)

Plans, coordinates, and executes recruitment activities, including the development and distribution of recruitment materials and advertisements, in conjunction with Recruiter (Coordinator) and Dean. Prepares presentations, webinars, posters, and other materials for open houses, conferences, career fairs, and other recruitment events. Responds to applicant queries regarding programs. Develops travel recruitment schedule to maximum recruitment of highly qualified applicants to the College of Nursing's Academic Programs. Budgetary responsibilities include developing and adhering to a budget for recruitment activities (materials, brochures, travel, & advertisement). Leads the Partnership Enrollment Programs (PEPs) and meets on a scheduled regular basis with PEP partners and participants.

Student Activities (10% Effort)

Provides leadership for student activities including orientation, Student Government Association, Honor Council, and other student organizations. Recommends scholarship allocations to incoming and current students based on award criteria to Awards Committee. Communicates scholarship award notifications to the Financial Aid Office and students. Solicits

nominations for awards and forwards recommendations to Awards Committees for final selection. Participates in Student Events and Academic Ceremonies (Commencement, Convocation, White Coat, etc.) Works with program directors in coordinating the partnership scholars programs from a recruitment perspective.

Data Analysis (5%)

Oversees collection of survey data from alumni for grants, traineeships, & accreditation reports. Provides data analyses regarding application and enrollment trends.

Daily oversight of Student Affairs staff, including Enrollment Manager, Admissions Pipeline Coordinator, and Admissions Counselor, and conducts their performance evaluations. Provides performance feedback and implements performance improvement plans as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • The candidate must qualify for rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
  • Must possess doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must be a current UTHSC- Memphis Faculty Member
  • Must be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Tennessee.

Departmental Preferences:

  • A minimum of 5-6 years' experience in an academic higher education environment with 2-3 years of formal academic leadership experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, analytical skills, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people from all backgrounds. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork. Proficient computer/technology skills with preference given to those having experience with "CAS" systems (NursingCAS, PharmCAS, etc.)
