Job Summary
Reporting directly to the dean of the College of Education, the Assistant Dean for Strategic Partnerships serves as the chief academic administrator for educator preparation and will have experience with Texas Education Agency accreditation and credentialing requirements for education professions. We are seeking a colleague with an entrepreneurial spirit and experience establishing strategic partnerships with school districts. This individual should have a strong record of academic leadership and commitment to academic excellence and innovative program delivery and design. Experience with program development as well as evidence of successful collaboration between university, school district, community college, and other community partners. The start date of the position will be Fall 2024.
Duties of the Assistant Dean for Strategic Partnerships include:
  • Assisting the certification, field experiences, and advising offices in the coordination of program evaluation and accreditation;
  • Ensuring that all educator preparation programs are in compliance with accreditation requirements, including TEA and SACS.
  • Establishing and managing partnerships with school districts, community colleges, community agencies, universities, and international partners;
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for all educator preparation programming
  • Typically teaching two courses a semester for the College of Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • The College of Education seeks an innovative leader and thought partner that is skilled in establishing strategic partnerships with innovative approaches to educator preparation.
  • The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance as it relates to programs and accreditation for education preparation programs.
  • The successful candidate will teach courses focused on the preparation of educational leaders in the principal preparation program.
  • The successful candidate will engage in service to the college, university, and profession and contribute to cultivating collegiality within the college.
Required Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate in educational leadership, administration, education, or a closely related field by August 2024.
  • Demonstrated potential to establish and sustain strategic partnerships with districts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education establishing partnerships with local school districts
  • Three or more years of experience as a K-12 administrator (principal level or higher) or principal certification.
  • Experience working with the Texas Education Agency on accreditation of educator preparation programs
  • Experience engaging practitioners in action research or job-embedded inquiry projects
  • Pedagogical experience with hybrid, blended, and online teaching strategies in higher education
