Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine , within the Department of Medicine, is a dynamic and innovative center dedicated to excellence in research, medical education, and clinical care. Our division is driven by over 90 faculty, clinician educators and instructors who are the pillar of strength in the Division's ongoing efforts into the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Sandhu's team is looking for an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (aCRC) to assist his team with the Patient Reported Outcomes in Heart Failure (PRO-HF) and AHA trials. These are pragmatic clinical trial evaluating the routine use of patient-reported health status in heart failure clinic at Stanford University. In these trials, patients will be electronically recruited and enrolled and be randomized to either usual care or completing a questionnaire with each clinic visit. The aCRC will assist with coordinating enrollment activities. This includes entering patient information into the electronic health record, notifying clinic staff of enrolled patients, contacting interested potential participants, answering questions from potential participants, and collecting questionnaire responses. The coordinator will work closely with Dr. Sandhu and the rest of his research team.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluency in Spanish is desirable. Working toward certification(s) to perform basic patient measurements and tests, such as phlebotomy and EKG.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

  • Two-year college degree and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • General knowledge of medical terminology.


CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

  • Working toward certification(s) to perform basic patient measurements and tests, such as phlebotomy and EKG.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.
  • Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Position may at times require the employee to work with or be in areas where hazardous materials and/or exposure to chemicals, blood, body fluid or tissues and risk of exposure to contagious diseases and infections.
  • May require extended or unusual work hours based on research requirements and business needs.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours.

The expected pay range for this position is $25.48 - $31.25 hourly. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
