Position Summary: 

The Max and Celia Parnes Psychological and Psychoeducational Doctoral Psychology Clinic invites applications for the position of Assistant Director. The position will start in Fall 2023. Candidates with expertise in all areas of clinical psychology, including assessment, will be considered. Applicants with a track record of a wide range clinical training experiences, supervisory proficiency, program management and administrative competence are sought. Skills in program development are preferred but not required. Prior experience in testing supervision is strongly preferred.  

Responsibilities: 

The Assistant Director reports directly to the Parnes Clinic Director. The Assistant Director is responsible for co-leading our training clinic, along with the Director, to further enable it to fulfill its mission of training graduate students to provide state of the art clinical services to the people of New York. The Assistant Director will also have total oversight of the Clinic in the evenings until 8 p.m., and on Fridays from 9-2. Other specific responsibilities and expectations include supervising doctoral students’ therapy and assessment cases, crisis management, student and supervisor case consultation, assisting in coordinating our new Non-verbal Learning Disorders (NVLD) assessment and treatment sub-clinic, and participating in educational activities related to graduate student training. There are also opportunities for mentoring doctoral student research and graduate teaching.

Experience and Educational Background: 

The candidate should hold a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and be licensed or license eligible in New York State as a clinical psychologist. Applicants must have a strong track record of clinical, administrative, supervisory and teaching/mentoring experience. Prior experience as a director, or assistant director of a mental health clinic is strongly preferred.

Salary Range:

$75,000 - $95,000 / 12 months

Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology is located in the Bronx on Yeshiva University's Resnick Campus and Albert Einstein College of Medicine Campus approximately 6-7 miles from Manhattan, New York.  Ferkauf has existed for over 50 years and all of its doctoral programs are APA-accredited. Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology offers three APA-accredited doctoral programs: Clinical, School-Clinical-Child and Clinical Health, and offers a NY State certified Master of Arts program in Counseling Psychology and a NY State certified Master of Science program in Marriage and Family Therapy. 

The Max and Celia Parnes Family Psychological and Psychoeducational Services Clinic is the training clinic of Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Since its inception over 50 years ago, we have provided low-cost, confidential, state-of-the-art mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
