Job Summary
 

The Assistant University Store Manager will hire, train and schedule all store employees, oversee inventory and cash management, and the ordering of products and supplies. This position will develop relationships with faculty for textbook adoptions, and perform administrative duties as the point person in Savannah.


Responsibilities
 
  • Oversee textbook returns and wholesale shipments processes
  • Maintain textbook wholesale programs
  • Request quotes from non-MBS companies
  • Coordinate buyback terms/options
  • Oversee cash management, including the daily deposit, safe, and handling of invoices and expenses for the store
  • Lead the annual inventory physical count
  • Conduct cycle counts in textbooks for the fall and spring semester
  • Facilitate textbook adoptions on the Armstrong and Hinesville campus by developing relationships with faculty
  • Monitor inventory
  • Utilize system reports to monitor and correct discrepancies
  • Collaborate with the store staff and Statesboro operations manager to improve processes and control shrinkage
  • Assure general merchandise, supplies, and technology items are verified when received and merchandised properly on the sales floor
  • Open and close the store in rotation with store associates
  • Coordinate with the textbook department to get shelve tags and textbooks ready for each term by the start of classes
  • Assure the return of overstocked titles around the middle of the term

Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or two (2) or more years of post-secondary education

Required Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
 

Preferred Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

Proposed Salary
 

$50,000 - $56,850

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
