Job Summary
 

Assists with the prevention, acute care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for club athletes. Provides medical coverage for athletic events and clinical hours in the Athletic Training Room.


Responsibilities
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the overall prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and daily health care for assigned student-athletes.
2. Educates athletes on injuries, concussions, at-home care, and the purpose of specified rehab protocol.
3. Responsible for maintaining up-to-date HIPAA-compliant medical records.
4. Responsible for administrative tasks assigned by the department leadership.
5. Establishes and executes institutional policies pertaining to the care of the student-athletes.
6. Maintains frequent and effective communication with medical and department staff.
7. Assists in executing the annual acute care injury prevention educational program.


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, or related field.
Other Required Qualifications
NATABOC Certification
Possess or eligibility to obtain and maintain a State of Georgia Athletic Training Licensure.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience
On-the-job training provided.


Preferred Qualifications
 

Preferred Experience
Experience in collegiate sports, athletic training, or rehabilitation.
Two (2) years relevant experience in athletic training in a post-secondary level program or professional training in a related sports program

KNOWLEDGE
Proficiency in maintaining the necessary competence for the job role and associated areas of responsibility. This includes but is not limited to grasping industry norms and best practices, adopting a cautious approach to Return to Play (RTP), staying updated on new techniques and skills, incorporating the latest industry research and data findings, and seamlessly integrating university and departmental policies into care protocols. Exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence, ethical practices, and best patient care.
Proficient in tracking treatments and maintaining comprehensive notes.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills.
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite and specialty programs i.e.: Sports Ware, HITT Check, Fusion)
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette
