The Gordon E. Inman College of Nursing at Belmont University seeks a highly qualified and dedicated individual for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor beginning August 1, 2024.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced educator, ideally with a strong background in medical, surgical, acute, or intensive care nursing courses. The faculty role includes teaching undergraduate students in didactic, simulation/laboratory, and/or clinical settings. As all Belmont undergraduates complete an innovative general education program with significant interdisciplinary components, Belmont University seeks applicants who can demonstrate the interest and ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams. This individual will contribute to our mission of providing exceptional nursing education and preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality instruction for undergraduate nursing courses, focusing on general medical and acute care nursing.
  • Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that facilitate student understanding and application of nursing principles.
  • Mentor and advise students, providing guidance on academic and professional growth.
  • Contribute to the development and assessment of nursing curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Actively engage in scholarly activities, which may include research, publications, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and staff to support the college's mission and goals.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional service activities.
  • Pursue and maintain scholarly activity and professional development to stay current in the field of nursing.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Previous experience in a higher education setting.
  • Active involvement in professional organizations related to nursing.
   
Required Education Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field (Ph.D., DNP, or EdD.)
   
Required Experience Teaching experience in higher education preferred. Current, unencumbered nursing licensure.
