JOB DETAILS:

The Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Human Services is seeking candidates for a tenure-track, full-time, 9-month academic year faculty position starting August 19, 2024. The successful candidate will be passionate about and committed to promoting the development of an equitable and inclusive learning environment. The appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor level and rank will be determined at time of hire commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. The Department supports a variety of contemporary teaching modalities including in-person, blended, and distance learning environments. Summer teaching is optional when contracts are available.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum/Required

  • Ph.D. in Marriage/Couple and Family Therapy or Human Development/Family Studies with specialization in  MFT, or closely related field by employment start date * 
  • Evidence of teaching excellence at the college level

* Consideration will be given to candidates who are ABD, although doctorate must be completed by August 19, 2024.

Highly Desired/Preferred

  • Ability to successfully teach online
  • Demonstrate ability to teach human development, family science, and MFT courses 
  • Experience with several relational-systemic approaches to therapies 
  • AAMFT Approved Supervisor or supervisor candidate status 
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing a student success environment that embraces inclusion
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse student populations

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • We are a teaching-focused campus. Faculty will teach on-campus and occasionally online courses in Marriage and Family Therapy and Human Development/Family Studies, with the option to teach in the Sex Therapy Certificate Program.
  • Provide on-campus clinical supervision.
  • Integrate diversity in courses.
  • Engage in scholarly activities and research.
  • Participate in service/committee work at the department, college, and university, state and/or national levels.
  • Support a culture of respect, civility, and collegiality.
  • Actively participate in professional organizations such as AAMFT, NCFR, GROVES, AASECT.
  • Provide academic advisement for undergraduate and graduate students and conduct assessment of student learning. This includes contributing to academic program assessment and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff.

The Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation and Human Services is characterized by committed student-centered professionals who value teaching in a collaborative and participatory work environment.
