Assistant/Associate Professor - Director of Clinical Education

Position Description:  Development, implementation, delivery and oversight of the clinical phase curriculum and assessment.

Essential Functions:

·         Responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the clinical preceptor network for all clinical phase students

·         Works with Program Director and Director of Didactic Education to develop and implement horizontal and longitudinal goals and learning objectives within the curriculum to ensure a system of progressive learning and assessment across the continuum of the program

·         Directs the operational processes performed by the Clinical Coordinator to schedule students’ Supervised Clinical Practice Experiences (SCPEs)

·         Works with the Program Director and Director of Didactic Education to develop a strategy to design, implement and maintain curricular mapping of the clinical phase of the PA curriculum

·         Develops and implements the processes and content of preceptor development, onboarding, evaluation and training activities

·         Liaison to the faculty of the Creighton University Medical School and other clinical partners and stakeholders on clinical training matters

·         Development, implementation and oversight of the didactic curriculum and assessment plan for the clinical phase of the program

·         Course director or co-director, as assigned

·         Classroom instruction and small group facilitation in the PA program in areas of expertise

·         Chair, Clinical Education Committee

·         Develops and participates in student assessment and evaluation

·         Provides student advising

·         Contributes to application evaluation, interviews and selection of matriculating students.

·         Participates in ongoing program evaluation and accreditation processes.

·         Performs site visits and coordinates site visits to clinical preceptors by faculty

·         Scholarly activity in areas of research interest

·         Serves on Creighton University and School of Medicine committees and activities as requested

Qualifications:

  • PA-C, Master’s degree;
  • State Licensure (or license-eligible);
  • 3-5 years of experience in PA education
