Position Summary
Bryant University seeks to fill a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Data Science position (Associate rank will be considered for candidates with an established record of research and teaching), beginning August 1, 2024. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, to scholarly research, and to departmental and University service. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of Data Science, candidates with additional domain expertise, including Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and/or Entrepreneurship, are highly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in both our undergraduate and graduate Data Science and Business Analytics programs.
Principal Accountabilities
Successful candidates must be committed to teaching excellence, establishing a scholarly publication record consistent with AACSB standards, and serving as an active member of the Bryant University community. Faculty at Bryant are engaged in a wide variety of roles ranging from building new programs, writing research grants, establishing connections with the business community, and developing new courses to designing, participating in and leading new initiatives, mentoring students, and being an active participant in departmental and institutional activities.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or related degree from an AACSB-International or EQUIS accredited institution. ABD with completion expected by June 2024 will be considered. Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence, establishing a scholarly publication record consistent with AACSB standards, and serving as active members of the Bryant community. A demonstrated capacity to conduct research that speaks to both academic and managerial audiences is highly desirable. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses at both the undergraduate (BSDS) and graduate (MBA) level.

The Information Systems and Analytics Department consists of 7 tenured or tenure-track faculty members and 3 non-tenure track faculty members. The department offers undergraduate degrees in both Data Science and Information Systems, and Applied Analytic as second concentration. The department also offers a Master of Science degree in Data Science and a Master of Science degree in Business Analytics.
