Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Nurse Administrator

Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing at Central Campus is seeking an outstanding candidate to teach in the new post masters, Doctor of Nursing Practice program. This 9-month, Tenure-Track faculty position is for a Nurse Administrator with a DNP or PhD who has exceptional leadership, scholarship and excellence in teaching. The anticipated start date for the qualified applicant begins as early as August 2023, the search will continue until the position is filled. Research start-up funds have been allocated for this position

Faculty responsibilities include: ongoing curriculum development and evaluation; classroom and clinical instruction in the undergraduate and graduate programs using on-site, simulation, on-line, and distance education strategies; some travel; participation in college and university committees; engaging in scholarship, service and academic advising.

The Gessner College of Nursing is proud of its excellent BSN, MSN and DNP academic programs, innovative web-enhanced education, simulation laboratory, and supportive student environment for both face-to-face and distance learning. While the primary teaching site is the University of Houston, the Gessner College of Nursing has programming on the University of Houston at Sugar Land and the University of Houston at Katy locations. 1. Doctorate in nursing or related field.
2. Master’s degree in nursing from a professionally accredited school of nursing inf the doctorate is not in nursing
3. Candidate must possess an unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Texas.
4. Minimum 2 years clinical experience required
5. Excellent clinical, administrative and communication skills.
6. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience required.
7. Established research focus and publications.
