The Mary and Jeff Bell Library at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites applications for the 12-month, non-tenure track position of I-Know Instructional Design Librarian at the rank of Assistant or Associate Librarian. Under the direction of the Director of Digital Information Literacy, the I-Know Instructional Design Librarian provides support to faculty, staff, and students to facilitate the integration of digital information literacy into the undergraduate curriculum at TAMU-CC. The goal of the I-Know Qualities Enhancement Plan (QEP) is to prepare students to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information using digital technologies so that they can successfully and responsibly navigate the increasingly complex information landscape as global citizens.

This position is responsible for liaising with academic units and library units engaged in instruction to ensure a robust digital information literacy foundation for undergraduate students and successful achievement of the I-Know QEP. This position also works closely with the I-Know Director to ensure a well-integrated program that scaffolds digital information literacy skills throughout the undergraduate curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the I-Know Director to successfully implement and meet the goals of the I-Know digital information literacy program.

  • Collaborate with library faculty and library instruction coordinator to ensure seamless integration of all levels of student learning objectives for digital information literacy.

  • Consult faculty from different academic units in information literacy curriculum design and integration.

  • Design and publish online educational materials that align with I-Know digital information literacy student learning objectives.

  • Increase professional competence through formal or informal study and professional development activities.

  • Co-supervise I-Know student employees.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in library science (or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited institution.

  • To be considered for Associate Librarian rank, a minimum of five (5) years of experience at the assistant librarian or comparable rank is required.

  • Experience teaching information literacy and/or digital literacy concepts.

  • Experience with instructional design, curriculum building, and curriculum mapping.

  • Ability to create and deliver effective training presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Creative and analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to analyze teaching/learning materials for consultation purposes.

  • Desire to learn new methods and technologies in instructional design.

  • Experience in higher education/academic libraries.

Minimum Salary: $56,650/annually. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience, and is paid on a monthly basis over the appointment period.
