The School of Civil and Construction Engineering (CCE) at Oregon State University (OSU) seeks to fill one or more full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, tenure-track or tenured position, at the rank of Assistant, or Associate, or Full Professor in Civil Engineering to begin Sept. 16, 2024.
Upon appointment to the faculty, rank will be determined commensurate with qualifications. This position is intended to support research and teaching in the general area of water resources engineering.
Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank is anticipated; however, appointment at a promoted rank may be considered depending upon the qualifications of the successful candidate.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):

Typically requires PhD or terminal degree (Masters for some Extension positions and MLS for Library positions), demonstrated ability to teach in a classroom Extension, or other setting, and develop a research program in the academic discipline/unit.

Minimum/Required Qualifications for all ranks (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor):
  • PhD in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Record of high-impact scholarly work with potential for distinction.
  • Demonstrated record of professional service in their area of specialization.
  • Demonstrated record of developing internal, national, or international partnerships to advance research and education missions in civil engineering or closely related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated record of promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within professional community.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • For candidates seeking to be hired at a rank other than Assistant Professor, they should meet the OSU teaching, advising, research and service criteria for appointment at the desired rank (see the OSU Faculty Handbook for details). OSU will consider previous years of experience at other, similar institutions towards timelines for rank or tenure promotions.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
