Position Summary
The Assistant I/II Assessment and Data Assistant (ADA) supports the Intake & Assessment and Management Information Systems (MIS) Coordinators. The ADA helps to administer and score student assessments used for placement in English Basic Skills classes. Based on the results of assessments and intake information, the assistant refers students to appropriate classes or resources within the college and the community.
This position reports to the Coordinator for English Language Learning programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Student Support: Follows up with students who have inquired about the program to provide general information and to schedule students for an orientation. Maintains student contact information and ensures students have scheduled an orientation. Sends confirmation of date and location and follows up with reminder calls, e-mails, and texts.
Orientation/Assessment Support: Coordinates online survey for students interested in scheduling an orientation, monitors responses, and number of students assigned to each session. Prepares individual test tickets needed to administer tests at orientation and ensures supplies and materials are available. Assists with the administration and proctoring of assessments during orientation at both on-site and off-site assessment sessions and provides class placement information to students as needed.
Data Support: The MIS Coordinator assists in collecting student demographic and assessment information and reviewing it for accuracy. The MIS Coordinator also provides data entry support for information required by state grant administrators or requested by community partners. The MIS Coordinator reviews student records and updates their current status within the program.
General Office Support: This position provides backup to the Student Engagement Technician, who is responsible for responding to student inquiries in person, by phone, or by e-mail.
Other Duties: As assigned by the Assistant Director or Director.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
One year of experience with data collection and general office duties is required; some experience in preparing reports.
Bilingual - Fluency in both English/Spanish (written/spoken)
Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to use standard word processing, spreadsheets, and database systems
Ability to function with minimal supervision with attention to details and deadlines including the ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to accommodate the needs of the program.
Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive environment and the ability to deal tactfully with all internal and external constituents.
