Hourly Rate $35 to $45 based on experience and education
Job Summary/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to effectively and accurately interpret for faculty members who are D/deaf during various campus meetings and events. The ability to work in an academic register utilizing specialized vocabulary in both American Sign Language and spoken English are essential skills for this position. The number of hours per pay period may vary but will be a minimum of two hours per scheduled event. The full-time staff interpreter or designee will schedule interpreters on an as needed basis. The meetings and events may be in person on campus or virtually utilizing videoconferencing technology. Pay will be determined based on experience and level of certification.
Required Qualifications
Certification by RID (CSC, CI, CT, NIC all types, Ed:K:12), NAD IV or EIPA 4.0 or above.
Cannot be a current UNF student for this position type.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree and experience working in higher education.
