As an archaeologist you will work with the archaeology collection manager and curator of archaeology to lead field-based grant projects within the archaeology department at the University of Alaska Museum of the North. 

To be successful in this position, applicants must have experience working in remote field settings in Alaska. Applicants with prior museum collections experience strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

They must possess at least a bachelor's degree in anthropology with a focus on archaeology. An advanced degree in anthropology is valued but not required with a requisite amount of experience with project management. Experience planning projects, managing budgets, and completing on time project reports is required. Applicants should be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and should have experience working with databases. The archaeologist should exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills. Supervisory experience in a remote field and museum laboratory environment is preferred but not required.

A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 79, based on education and experience.
