Posting Summary | Laboratory technician in the Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Laboratory to assist with field- and lab-based research programs in large lake systems. Primary functions will include conducting field research on coregonine restoration in the Great Lakes, laboratory research on zooplankton in Lake Champlain, and, more broadly, assisting in other research projects as needed. |
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelor’s degree in fisheries, aquatic ecology, limnology, or equivalent field. Competitive applicants will have field experience in fish collection and processing, demonstrated experience using microscopes and identifying invertebrates, strong organizational skills, a demonstrated aptitude for data management, basic proficiency in R, the ability to work with people in a team environment, demonstrated initiative with an aptitude for problem solving, and a driver’s license and boating safety certification, with demonstrated competency in handling small boats. |
