Job Summary
The Morris lab in the Department of Biology is seeking an animal care technician to assist with our research on vertebrate retinal development and regeneration. Responsibilities include taking care of our aquatic housing facility for freshwater zebrafish, as well as performing some molecular biology experiments. Other duties include ordering reagents and supplies for the lab, assisting with animal care and biosafety compliance, keeping daily written and computer records, and attending lab meetings. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Attention to detail, good organization skills, ability to multitask, and teamwork. Some background in biology is definitely a plus.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience
Biology or related coursework and some lab experience preferred (this could be in a laboratory course)
