Position Summary: 

The Anesthesia Tech Manager is responsible for the delivery of clinical support services for the department.  Incumbent spends the majority of time (50% or more) achieving organizational objectives through the coordinated achievements of staff. This individual establishes departmental goals and objectives, functions with autonomy, and manages the accountability and stewardship of human, financial, and often physical resources in compliance with departmental and organizational goals and objectives. Incumbent is also responsible for ensuring supervisors and professionals adhere to defined internal controls, and manages systems and procedures to protect departmental assets.

Salary Range: 

 

Annual Rate  Minimum  $90,500.00                           Midpoint  $130,100.00                         Maximum    $169,700.00

 

Required Qualifications:

Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills

Must possess Anesthesia Technician Certification or an Associate of Science Degree in Anesthesia Technology

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Must possess the skill, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Knowledge of medical computer software systems)

Demonstrated ability to lead change and effectively manage conflict

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization from senior management to bedside staff

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with staff and management.

Minimum 5 years experience in sterile processing

Minimum 3 years of demonstrated supervisor and/or leadership skills in employee supervision and human resources administration to effectively manage, lead, and motivate others

Knowledge of relevant medical center, Human Resources, and UC policies and processes. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant internal policy and external regulations

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staff with diverse skills and expertise

Proven problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex issues, identify problems, and determine and implement appropriate, effective solutions. Demonstrates sound judgment

Ability to present complex information to diverse audiences

5 years experience in anesthesia

Broad knowledge of anesthesiology and / or general clinical support procedures.

Skills to collaborate within and across departments / locations to integrate / coordinate daily activities and resolve problems.

Knowledge of medical/surgical and anesthetic terminology

The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure

Current BLS certification

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

MS, MBA or Masters in Healthcare Management or related field
