Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. |
KSA's/Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s in ASL with educational courses in ASL or Deaf Studies from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US DOE. Proven subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or credentials. 2-3 years of related professional experience. Work experience as an interpreter. Non-credit courses require substantial experience in the field of expertise by the instructor. |
Additional Considerations | Master’s degree in ASL or applicable medical field. Successful teaching experience, preferable at a community college. Experience with online learning. Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology routinely into instructional and faculty responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds. |
