ACADEMIC SUPPORT (KO-ACSP-IUKOA)
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Provides reception for OSSA.
- Provides data monitoring support for the School of Nursing & Allied Health (SNAHP) advising center.
- Performs clerical tasks that support advising/student success initiatives across campus.
- Responsible for student-facing support for the Office of Student Success and Advising.
- Maintains databases to help advisors and SNAHP leadership review progress of applicants and students admitted to programs.
- Serves as primary proctor for TEAS exam administration for nursing administration and provides training to secondary proctors.
- Provides support to the Testing Support Specialist by assisting with administering tests and monitoring testing processes in the campus testing center.
- Processes AAR course exceptions and waivers as approved by General Education Committee and academic deans.
- Assists OSSA department with new student orientation programming, including documentation of student progress in orientation steps, coaching new admits through preparation steps, and provides check-in and registration support at enrollment events.
General Responsibilities
- Assists with administrative needs related to the daily operations, planning, and implementation of various or multiple student services initiatives.
- Attends front desk, answers phones and emails, and delivers messages and mail.
- Serves as a liaison to campus partners for cross-departmental student services initiatives, provides information, secures space reservations, schedules plans meetings, and provides necessary documentation.
- Provides assistance to student participants, stakeholders, faculty, and/or staff; acts as a resource by analyzing information, providing documentation, and preparing reports. Accurately maintains electronic records and databases.
- Provides directions, support, and information to student organization representatives and other visitors to the department.
- Assists with daily scheduling, training, and gathering of student feedback. May prepare and disseminate handouts, presentations, or other materials.
- May assist with orders or creations of promotional materials for student organizations or departmental needs.
- May provide guidance to other Student Services Coordinators.
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree

- 2 years in office environment, higher education, or related field

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
