Advancement Information Analyst

The University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) cultivates relationships with contributors, alumni, and other constituents on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, generating support for teaching, research, and care. The Advancement Information Analyst develops and maintains key “knowledge management” functions to advance the organization’s fundraising and marketing goals and improve data acquisition and documentation, business information management and analysis, and the development, use, and support of data visualization tools. The Advancement Information Analyst monitors the integrity of the information contained in the database and determines how to translate data into usable, actionable information for the formation and execution of fundraising strategies and measures of success. The Advancement Information Analyst supports many areas within the organization and works closely with senior staff, prospect development, and other PAE departments. The Advancement Information Analyst provides strategic insight and cross-program analyses and makes recommendations to optimize resources throughout the organization. Preferred qualifications: At least 2 years of data science experience; prior professional services experience a plus. Comfortable in a client-facing role with experience working in a team. Likes to distill complex results or processes into simple, clear visualizations. Explain sophisticated data concepts in an understandable manner. Love building things and are comfortable working with modern development tools and writing code collaboratively. Experience applying advanced analytics to a variety of business situations and a proven ability to synthesize complex data.
Job Summary
Works with business groups to solve more complex problems using technology. Analyzes advanced business needs and evaluates complex business processes to recommend process enhancements. Assists in helping junior and more senior business analysts with complex projects.
Essential Functions
Work is performed in a typical office setting. Mostly computer work. In person and remote meetings.
Physical Effort
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
