Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional-level Advanced Windows System Administrator to join the Infrastructure & Communication Technology team within UFIT.

Competitive candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn. Outstanding communication skills are a must. You will have the opportunity to lead medium projects and work on medium to large projects. Other duties include coordinating teams responsible for maintenance, installation, configuration, and deployment of enterprise-wide infrastructure and software systems.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Windows administration of Enterprise Applications
  • Scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, etc.
  • Large scale Windows administration
  • Assist Microsoft Platform Team in architecture and implementation
  • Provide leadership, advice, and recommendations on enterprise systems administration and management technologies
  • Mentor and cultivate fellow talented staff members

Benefits
Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at a rate of 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31 when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$90,000 – $105,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skills:

  • Installation, Architecture/Design, and Management of Enterprise Application Infrastructure in large-scale environments using on-premises and cloud deployments
  • Automation, scripting, and configuration management systems such as: Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, and PowerShell
  • Load balancer policies, and virtual server load balancing
  • Administering IIS in clustered and non-clustered configurations
  • Large scale Windows Operating System management including the ability to perform in-depth troubleshooting
  • Orchestration tools such as Terraform and monitoring systems experience such as: Nagios, Zabbix

This role will be based in one of our Gainesville offices and may include a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office (Wednesday required), and 2 days remote.
