The Office of Enrollment Management Communications at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Admissions Fulfillment Outreach Specialist position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

The Position:

This position will assist with many large mailings for all offices in the department which could be 100 to 25,000 pieces or more. Ensures that each group of students for each office is getting the correct envelopes, letters, inserts, etc. Responsible for sorting and distributing mail for the entire department. Responsible for all incoming packages, transcripts, letters, scholarship checks and misc. items. Delivering mail to Registrar, Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid, EM Central Office, EM Communications, Visitor's Center, Admissions Process and EM Operations offices. Picking up outgoing mail/packages from all EM offices, bringing it back to the Mail Room and ensuring all the outgoing mail is tagged with the appropriate mail slip. Assists with scheduling, supervising, and training student workers. Fulfilling requests from recruiters and others on campus.

 



Qualifications

 

Required Education and Experience:

High School diploma-

• 1 year of any combination of experience in an office environment, typing, computer, database experience, word processing.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

Associate degree-

• Helpful to have knowledge of the postal guidelines for different classes of mailings and experience coordinating preparation of large mailings meeting extremely differing goals.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Superior customer service and time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks

• Organizational skills

• Strong communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing

• Excellent grammar and proofreading skills

• Problem solving skills

• Organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail

• Ability to be dependable, punctual, and a team player

• Ability to learn new software and processes

• Ability to improve processes through critical thinking; ability to effectively communicate with diverse faculty, staff, and students.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook

• Working knowledge of CRM/Slate, inventory tracking and working with students

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 190 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, EM Communications, and Research & Analytics.
