Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
 

This position will recruit students for and collaborate with the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and College of Nursing for current graduate programs of study: Pharmacy Doctorate, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Occupational Therapy Doctorate, Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, Doctorate of Physical Therapy, and Master of Social Work. In addition, the counselor will coordinate recruitment and application engagement efforts for undergraduate applicants to the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, including programs in Public Health. Social Work, and Exercise Science. Belmont is a growing and innovative university with new programs announced on a consistent basis. As such, this position could expect to have new programs of study enter the portfolio going forward. The recruiter is charged with on and off campus work to build the prospect and applicant pools for these graduate programs.

  • Build prospect and applicant pools for graduate health science programs to enable each program to meet enrollment goals. Facilitate marketing and student recruitment activities for the Pharmacy Doctorate program, as directed.
  • Initiate contact with prospective students to encourage consideration of Belmont’s undergraduate health science programs and Pharmacy doctorate, providing counsel about program requirements and the application process.
  • Answer inquiries from prospective students with timely follow-up, developing an ongoing rapport to encourage application and enrollment.
  • Lead and work with faculty to host daily academic information sessions for the undergraduate programs as part of the daily campus visit.
  • Plan and implement Saturday Preview Day and Be Belmont Day events for the undergraduate programs.
  • Coordinate outreach to and engagement with pre-health advisors, student organizations and career centers at feeder institutions to increase student interest for all graduate health science programs from those schools. Represent graduate health science programs in both on-campus and off-campus recruitment events.
  • Meet with prospective students and their families who visit campus, also providing facility tours. 
  • Coordinate College of Pharmacy & Health Science interview days to effectively connect program faculty with qualified applicants.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a strategic plan of marketing and recruitment for the Pharmacy Doctorate program.
  • Work in regular collaboration with Director of Admissions and the University’s Enrollment Services division to ensure compliance with the University’s existing inquiry and applicant data protocols, CRM system, and other applicable processes and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings and projects as determined by the Dean of Enrollment.
  • Assist in the maintenance of program websites.

  • Able to work independently and self-manage; able to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments; and possess strong organizational and prioritizing ability.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Able to handle confidential financial and personal information.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Able to work collaboratively across campus with members of the various graduate programs.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
   
Required Education Bachelor’s degree required.
   
Required Experience
  • Previous private college experience in admissions preferred.
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license with good driving record.
