Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Supports the admissions process, including maintenance of admissions records for undergraduate, graduate, and International students. Serves as the assistant to the International Liaison.
  • Advises customers of admissions standards and required documentation.
  • Performs an initial review of applications for admissions and confirms students' residency.
  • Manages the transfer credit process, including articulating and awarding credit.
  • Makes recommendations regarding admission decisions in the Admissions platform.
  • Contacts or responds to applicants regarding the admission application via various modes, i.e., text, email, mail, and phone.
  • Participates in developing and maintaining the communication plan to applicants and admitted students in various forms such as print, text, and email.
  • Generates postal mail to all stages in the enrollment funnel, i.e., admissions-related communication
  • Generates reports for mailing to prospective and admitted students when necessary.
  • Responds to phone and email inquires.
  • Assists Admissions Counselors and students at Recruitment and Admissions events on campus.

General Responsibilities

  • Responds to inquiries from potential students, parents, high school teachers and counselors, and others regarding policies and procedures involved in applying for admission.
  • Responds to requests for additional information; determines what material best suits the needs of prospective students and mails.
  • Processes incoming applications and supporting documents; codes information sent for data entry; begins the process of creating applicant file.
  • Provides clerical support to department including filing, preparing correspondence, and acting as an informational resource.
  • Maintains databases and files on applicants and high schools; updating as necessary.
  • Generates and mails letters of acceptance, letters of rejection, and other form letters to applicants.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred

  • 2 years of related or work experience

SKILLS

  • Proficient communication skills
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism
  • Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills
  • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality

Preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft tools, i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Effectively operate a computer and the ability to grasp technology platforms such as Salesforce, OnBase, PeopleSoft, and text messaging systems

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$31,200 - $35,193.60 annually
