This position is responsible for performing various admission functions for the university. An Admission Specialist receives and reviews applications for admission from prospective students of all types confirming the information provided. Admission Specialists also evaluate high school and college credits, test scores, and other admission credentials. Counseling students and families, serving as an enrollment resource to prospective students and families and staying abreast of admissions and program requirements. The specialist is the liaison between applicants and enrollment services to ensure a seamless flow of information and processes regarding online and specialized education programs.  

Significant duties and responsibilities include: Receives and reviews applications for admission from prospective students; use current and appropriate admissions policies and procedures to determine eligibility for acceptance to the University; stay abreast of current admissions policy and procedures and how they impact acceptance and denial to the University; evaluate appropriate achievement standardized test scores; evaluates high school and college transcripts and credits; request and evaluate additional documents needed; follow the University System of Georgia Board of Regents admission guidelines and procedure; communicates with applicants, students, and families through written correspondence, e-mail, and face-to-face meetings in the Office of Admissions; advises prospective and current students on appropriate courses, credits, etc., concerning online and specialized education programs; follow through on pending files to assure all required documents for acceptance to the University are received; acknowledging policies and procedures while reviewing documents to determine student's appropriate tuition classification;utilized reports to update errors and analyze processing technique; assist with campus events such as orientation, registration, and discovery days and perform other duties as requested by management.
 

Minimum qualifications include: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree or a related area; and some experience related to this class of work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience; excellent written and verbal communication skills and detail oriented and experience working Microsoft applications. 

Preferred Qualifications include: Working with online and specialized education programs; SCT Banner and imaging experience and experience working in a higher education.

The annualized salary range for this position is $34,868 - $37,000 and includes full benefits.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:Knowledge of admissions policies and procedures; knowledge of enrollment management operations; ability to interpret policies and procedures and appropriately apply them to various programs; ability to make sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in performing duties are required; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, administrators, faculty members, and others; ability to maintain accurate records, assemble and organize data; ability to utilize multiple database/software systems and excellent written and oral communication skills.
