Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary point of contact for the William States Lee College of Engineering Office of Student Development and Success (OSDS) and supports programs' activities.
  • Organizing mock interviews (2 per semester).
  • Managing Connection Day where all College of Engineering students are invited to meet with 120+ prospective employers.
  • Update Canvas for ENGR Professional Development Course (300 students per semester)
  • Research professional development workshop opportunities and connect students to those opportunities to support their course work in ENGR Prof Development course.
  • Assists with data assessment, surveys, and attendance records for ENGR Prof Development
  • Supports online sessions for New Student Orientation, assists advisors with updating academic holds in Banner
  • Assign students to appropriate departmental advisor after they move from 1st year to 2nd
  • Schedule advising sessions for 1st year engineering students
  • Maintain OSDS website content and images
  • Maintain College of Engineering google groups for students
  • Point of contact for building maintenance issues
  • Administrative support for OSDS faculty and staff (15+ people)
  • Greet the public and answering requests for general information,
  • Provide accurate information about the department's programs, courses, and activities; compiling,
  • Check students credential on Banner Student;
  • Assist students with questions regarding registration, requesting course authorizations, processing transient study forms and academic petitions;

Minimum Experience / Education:


Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and one year of related office experience; or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through three years of specialized office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school and one year of related office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential, with knowledge of Gmail and Google calendar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Positive customer service attitude; ability to communicate with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prior experience working in a college or university and experience in campus procedures and computer software systems highly desirable. Canvas, Blackboard or similar web-based software preferred.
  • Professionalism and experience working in an office setting/environment.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
