Organizational Unit Overview
The School of Dental Medicine is composed of ten administrative offices and four academic departments. The Administrative units include the Offices of the Dean, Vice Dean, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Associate Dean for Research, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Associate Dean for Extramural Clinical Practices, Assistant Dean for Dental Education and Informatics, Assistant Dean for Educational Support and Faculty Development, Assistant Dean for Academic Success and the Assistant Dean for Business Operations and Financial Affairs. The four academic departments are Surgical Sciences, Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, General Dentistry and Foundational Sciences.
Included in the mission of the School of Dental Medicine is to educate dental care providers (both dental students and dental residents) and to address the oral health care needs of the underserved population of North Carolina. The School of Dental Medicine meets these missions by operating dental clinics that provide both educational experiences for the dental students and residents and provides dental care to the residents of North Carolina. These clinics occur in both Ross Hall in Greenville, North Carolina, as well as Community Service-Learning Centers located throughout North Carolina. In order to operate these clinics, appropriate dental auxiliaries and clinical staff are needed.
Job Duties
The Admin Support Associate will provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean for Dental Education and Informatics by handling a variety of responsibilities, including scheduling meetings, maintaining a calendar, coordinating travel, and being in contact with different administrators within the college, health science center and university; students and patients to give general information about the school of dental medicine and the Office of Dental Education and Informatics.Experience in a healthcare setting and experience working with OS X and Mac applications would be helpful in this position.
The primary purpose and responsibility of this position is to provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean for Dental Education and Informatics by handling a variety of responsibilities, including scheduling meetings, maintaining a calendar, coordinating travel, and being in contact with different administrators within the college, health science center and university, students and patients to give general information about the school of dental medicine and the Office of Dental Education and Informatics. The Administrative Support Associate is the main point of contact for all external partners and provide administrative support for all ongoing projects.
Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing curriculum maps. The Administrative Support Associate will enter current and past curriculum data into XComP to provide the Office of Dental Education and Informatics with an accurate benchmarking and reporting tool for content, structure, delivery, and assessment of our dental school curriculum.
The Administrative Support Associate will also be in charge of updating faculty profiles within Faculty 180 based on performance reports created in XComP. Finally, this position will serve as the Banner ID coordinator for the ECU SODM. The Administrative Support Associate will be the main point of contact with ITCS for Banner ID-related matter. This position will also work closely with Student Affairs and Human Resources department to keep data up-to-date.
