The College of Education & Human Development’s Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education prepares teachers, scholars, community and school leaders in early childhood and elementary education. The Department of Early Childhood & Elementary Education is searching for an experienced Administrative Specialist to join our team.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position provides administrative support to the Department of Early Childhood & Elementary Education at Georgia State University.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Manages front desk and other department spaces (work room, conference room, etc.) and student assistants (hires, trains, supervises, and oversees).
  • Oversees front desk operations, including facilitating and supporting student assistants in the following activities: answer phones, sort and distribute mail, keep basic office supplies and other department supplies stocked.
  • Manage department equipment and licenses (e.g., zoom) for faculty and students.
  • Manage content on department Digital Display systems, visitor check-ins, and parking requests.
  • Supports faculty with administrative tasks (copies, technology access, etc.) and assists with departmental event planning.
  • Develops policies and procedures for and manages the process of the daily flow of paperwork, electronic documents, and communication in addition to consulting with and assisting staff and faculty on all related activities.
  • Coordinating the hiring and paycheck disbursement for all departmental part-time instructor and graduate assistants.
  • Coordinating faculty travel authorizations, arrangements, and expense claims including supervisor mileage reimbursements.
  • Coordinating reimbursement requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

: 

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or high school diploma or GED and six years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
