Position Summary

Manages and coordinates the Duke University Libraries (DUL) work for the Lilly Renovation and Expansion project from design to construction to reopening and substantial completion of the post-reopening punch list.  This position is for 16 hours per week through September 2026.


Responsibilities 
  • Manages and/or coordinates DUL’s planning, design and construction-support work associated with the renovation of the Lilly Library to ensure that DUL operational goals and needs are met; serves as a member of the DUL Lilly Project Team (LPT) and supports the working groups as needed.
  • Serves as primary liaison with FMD Project Manager (PM), architects, tenants and others regarding design, enabling and construction issues; maintains a thorough understanding of the scope of work, the project schedule, and potential impact on existing operations; provides updates to the LPT and others as appropriate.
  • Consults and collaborates with the UL, Executive Group, Lilly staff, other departments, administration, contractors, and vendors in determining details and special needs for the enabling phase and the project.
  • Coordinates resolution of construction-related problems and assists DUL in determining priorities for change orders as needed.
  • In conjunction with the FMD PM, tracks and monitors Capital Project Request Forms (CPRF); monitors and reviews financial reporting with Business Services; provides regular reports and information regarding project budget; works with DUL Development as needed on fundraising reporting for the project. 
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education:

Required: Work generally requires organizational, analytical and communication skills normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

Required:  Seven years of administration, management, or supervisory experience (including project management) is required.

Salary and Benefits
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience; anticipated salary $44,000. This position is not benefits eligible.
