What You'll Do

Under limited supervision, the Administrative Program Assistant performs complex and diverse duties for Student Programs at Tisch College and serves as a source of information and problem solving for students, staff, and other constituents.

  • They will provide general guidance and explanation of departmental policies and procedures and may communicate on behalf of manager(s) to explain or disseminate information.
  • This position will provide administrative support, including the coordination and planning of logistics for events, including catering orders, room reservations, tracking responses, purchases and set up. 
  • They will coordinate meetings, student interviews, and handle documents and spreadsheets as well as resolves problems.
  • The Administrative Program Assistant will also monitor and track student expenditures and hours worked on various projects. 
  • They will be involved in department projects and programs, which will entail assisting with development of materials, updating web information, and assisting with content and design.
  • They will be responsible for completing and submitting various forms and requests, including financial transactions.         
  • This position reports to one person but supports the work of multiple staff.
  • Strong communication skills and sound judgment are needed to interact in a positive and effective way with multiple stakeholders including students, community members, alumni, staff, and faculty.
  • A successful candidate will need to demonstrate cultural awareness and agility, collaborate, and act as a resource to a vibrant and diverse community.
  • The position will be expected to handle sensitive information with discretion, and multiple deadlines. 

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with knowledge of event planning, plus 1-3 years of administrative office work experience
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills
  • Innovative, creative problem-solver able to manage multiple time-sensitive projects at once, with a high level of energy and responsiveness
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment, with a commitment to equity and inclusion, with people representing diverse social identities and political perspectives
  • Strong technology skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in pathways to civic and political engagement for young people
  • Seasoned judgement and discretion, including experience handling and maintaining the confidentiality of personal information
  • Experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of student programing
  • Knowledge or experience with GivePulse

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

  • This is a hybrid position where you are expected to be in the office 3 days a week.

Pay Range
Minimum $21.80, Midpoint $25.95, Maximum $30.10
 
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
