Disability Resources (DR) is one of seventeen departments housed in the Division of Student Affairs.  The department consists of eighteen full time staff, and several student assistants (15 to 20). Disability Resources staff members interact and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to achieve an equitable learning environment for students with disabilities at Texas A&M University. Disability Resources is seeking an Administrative Associate III to assist us with promoting an inclusive educational experience for students with disabilities.  This Administrative Associate III will be responsible for recruiting, matching, and communicating requests for peer notetakers.  In addition, this position will be responsible for providing complex administrative support related to office management, scheduling, reception, purchasing and travel.  The successful candidate will need to be skilled at using web applications/databases, have strong interpersonal skills, and great communication skills. Required Education and Experience:

  • High school graduation or any equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Three years of experience in general office or clerical work

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Other Requirements:

  • Evening work and/or travel may be required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to relate well to the unique needs of college students with disabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Note-taking coordination: Maintains AIM database requests for note-takers including recruiting note-takers, matching them to classes, and communicating with both the volunteer note-takers and students utilizing the volunteer note-takers.

  • Office Management: Maintains office supplies and equipment. Maintains office reference materials including online office materials. May deliver, pick up, or receive documents, supplies, equipment, or materials.

  • Assistant to Leadership Team: Assists with correspondence and tasks delegated by leadership team such as inventory, space inventory, and other required office tasks. May answer phone calls and greet visitors.

  • Calendar and travel arrangement: Makes arrangements for meetings, appointments, conferences, and travel. May set up meetings, seminars, and other special events to include facilities, equipment, and food.

  • Miscellaneous Duties: Serves on University, Division, and Departmental committees and task forces. Advances the philosophy of multiculturalism and actively promotes diversity in staffing, programming and student leadership.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
