Job Summary
Please note: this is part-time (20 hours per week) that will be a combination of remote and on-site work in Fremont.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and obtain physician license number, address, fax number, and medical group information for physicians listed on pathology reports and not in the statewide reporting source management database.
- Correspond with physician offices and reporting facilities through fax, GBACR secure web portal, or telephone to obtain missing case information such as social security number, race/ethnicity, and date of diagnosis.
- Provide administrative support to Administrative Assistant 3.
The hourly compensation range for this role is $25.72 - 36.59. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate, position requirements, AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Good computer program skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Google Docs, and Internet researching
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to effectively handle high stress situations, calmly respond to others in tense or difficult conversations, diffuse potentially hostile situations, and recognize when and how to de-escalate aggressive or unprofessional behavior from others
- Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals including other administrative support personnel and external professionals (physicians, cancer registrars and medical record personnel)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a health, medical or research environment
