As the administrative assistant, you will work with the offices of the deans of students to manage situations involving students, families, and staff and make decisions as authorized by the deans. In this position you will manage communication to faculty regarding students' medical or other personal emergencies that result in missed classes, provide calendar management, conduct research and provide necessary background information in preparation for meetings, and assist with the oversight of the [email protected] email.

Responsibilities in this position include processing purchase requisitions and approvals, providing support to SCAD events, and assisting with the planning of departmental meetings. As the administrative assistant, you will maintain and update the university's Crisis Response Manual and a log of potential missing student reports. In this role you will coordinate and distribute the on-call manager schedule. Additionally, you will manage first-year housing exemption requests.

Minimum Qualifications:     

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college; at least one year of related experience; a combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience handling confidential information
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Travel Required:

  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
