THE POSITION

The Administrative Assistant for the Department of Student Life provides direct administrative support to the Dean for Life and contributes to specific operations in the student success areas of Counseling Services, Health Services, Residential Life, Student Engagement, Student Support Services, and Title XI. The Administrative Assistant for the Department of Student Life assures the smooth operation of the day-to-day activities of the Department of Student Life. This position provides overall administrative support to the Dean in all aspects of student life - including but not limited to correspondence, answering phones, calendar management, filing, mailings, and meeting coordination. This role is designed to directly assist the Dean in the coordination of student life programming and events that are of interest to the students in order to cultivate and build community. Providing support to the Student Governance Association, Honor Boad, and the college’s SEPTA program. Strong candidates should be highly organized with multi-tasking capability to manage multiple projects to deadline. Meeting and event management skills including notifications, preparation of agendas, exhibits, minutes, and mailings is also critical for this position. 

Requirements include excellent written communication skills with the ability to compose correspondence using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation; meeting and event management skills; proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite or related software; calendar management; enthusiastic team player; exhibits a calm and helpful manner with all constituents; high degree of dependability and punctuality; highly organized with multi-tasking capability; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
